PHOTOGRAPH SIGNED ("A. Einstein. 52") ON THE OCCASION OF THE GROUND-BREAKING OF THE NEW HEBREW UNIVERSITY - HADASSAH MEDICAL CENTER IN JERUSALEM.
A striking black and white portrait image showing the head in three-quarter profile of a relaxed and smiling Einstein outdoors.
The photograph is understood to have been taken at a celebration, which took place at Princeton, of the building of the Hebrew University-Hadassah Medical Centre in Jerusalem, the first medical school in Israel and therefore commemorates Einstein's strong links with Israel in the year in which he was offered, and declined, the presidency of the country.
Approx. 8x10 inches. Signed in the lower margin.
